New Ways of Approaching Meat Plant Management

This business-oriented talk focuses on identifying constraints and new ways to think about managing meat plants. In his presentation, Nick talks about his experience working with small meat processing plants in Northeast Iowa and some of the approaches that he has developed to increase throughput, generate cash flow, and improve business efficiency.

 

Nick McCann is our Michigan Good Food Fund Value Chain Specialist but was Iowa State University’s Food System Value Chain Coordinator in Northeast Iowa at the time of this webinar and has expertise in distribution, logistics, meat processing, new product development, product aggregation and distribution, and accessing urban markets. This presentation was given at Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI on November 21, 2014.
