Director of Communications
Andrea has overseen communications for CRFS since October 2014. Andrea has experience developing science and health-related communications for topics ranging from biobanking to water safety, but communicating about food systems is her true passion. Prior to joining CRFS, Andrea coordinated the Trifecta interdisciplinary research initiative at MSU and social media communications for the MSU Online Master of Science in Food Safety.
Andrea has an MA in Health & Risk Communication from MSU, a BA in Linguistics & Psychology from the University of Michigan, and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with City Year Greater Philadelphia.

The Michigan State University Center for Regional Food Systems (CRFS) announces the appointment of an Assistant Director: Judith Barry. Barry began as Assistant Director effective May 1, 2017.

The re-designed program will be a more robust learning platform for those who are committed to owning their own farm business, managing farm operations, or working with others on their paths to food production and sustainable agriculture. Beginning with the 2017 cohort, students will meet one day per week for thirty-three weeks on Fridays 9:00am-5:00pm from March 17-November 17. The cost of the program is $3,600. Scholarships are available.

The theme of the 2016 Good Food Summit is “Good Food for All: The road to 2020.” Participants in the day-long event will celebrate state and local successes, engage with sector-specific breakout tracks, network with others from around Michigan and across the food system, and hear stories about successful Michigan collaborations.
