Facilitating collaboration, planning, and action between stakeholders from the Northwest Lower Michigan food system, including growers, processors, preparers, packagers, distributors, servers, and retailers.

Northwest Michigan Agriculture and Food System Sector Alliance

The goal of the Northwest Michigan Agriculture and Food System Sector Alliance was to create innovative and achievable strategies that participating organizations would use to support sustainable, regional jobs and enterprises within the food system.

The alliance facilitated collaboration, planning, and action by connecting stakeholders from the across food system, including growers, processors, preparers, packagers, distributors, servers, and retailers.

By convening local and regional farmers, businesses, government officials, and others to engage in a collaborative process, the alliance supported and created farm and food jobs and enterprises throughout Northwest Michigan. It also shaped training and educational programs for farm and food entrepreneurs and workers.
