Existing and developing Michigan local food councils, including food policy councils, are eligible to apply for grants of up to $5,000, with the option of matching funds up to $1,000 ($6,000 total). 

Michigan Local Food Council Network Seed Grant Program Request for Proposals (RFP)

Seed grants can be used for a wide variety of activities, including, but not limited to, hiring staff or consultants, conducting strategic planning and attending conferences and events. Seed grant funds may not be used for lobbying local, state, or federal elected officials. Competitive proposals should demonstrate a need for resources, outline objectives and strategies, show a commitment to diversity and equity in the local food council and all its work and otherwise adhere to all the RFP guidelines.

Proposals are due by 5:00 pm on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
